A General Success
On August 6th of 2007, William Regal became the permanent General Manager of Monday Night Raw, taking over for Johnathan Coachman. Regal, who had excelled in the ring and on the mic, turned out to be the perfect fit for the open position. He was receiving more heat form the fans than ever. When talking with Vince, he looks like just as big of a baddie as McMahon which is hard to do. Unlike Coach, Regal completely understands the business, inside the ring and out. On Monday he proved he would do anything for the sake of wrestling by letting Triple H bust him open in a First Blood match using his bare hands. Regal also proved it when he kissed Vince McMahon's bare backside and became the "Man's Man" (a hard working character) in his first WWE run. He and Eric Bischoff are the only two G.M.s of any show ever that do their job correctly. They make sure the fans give them an enormous amount of heat, and they always find a clever way to put the fan favorite in a tight spot. William Regal, formerly Lord Steven Regal in WCW, displays the utmost respect for the business. He never hesitates to go into action, and he's never been a nuisance backstage. In 2003, Regal had health problems, and I guarantee that he was disappointed when the doctors notified him he won't be able to compete for quite some time. His attitude has never changed, hilarious but serious at the same time. That's one thing that makes me ill. It's that he is nowhere near as respected as several competitors that are that don't deserve it. He is obviously more devoted than most people that step into the ring. That will always be constant though. However, it won't happen on this blog. William Regal, I respect you.
