ECW Hits and Misses for July 22

Hits
- The Opening Segment: GM Teddy Long presented ECW Champion Mark Henry with the newly crafted belt that was quite a looker. Also, Colin Delaney officially sided with Henry and Tony Atlas. Pretty nice promos by all personalities.
- The Continued Development of Young Talent: First, Evan Bourne defeated James Curtis, and later on, Ricky "The Latin Assassin" Ortiz appeared and had a discussion with Teddy Long. Bourne, who is also know as Matt Sydal, was nice in the aerial department and hopefully Curtis will gain a spot on the roster. In addition, Ortiz is polished on the mic.
- The Main Event: On Tuesday, Finlay, John Morrison, The Miz, and Finlay competed in a fatal four way for an ECW Title shot. Even though it was almost for sure Hardy was going to win, the match was excellent with amazing high spots and thoughtful ring psychology. Hardy pinned Miz and will face Mark Henry for the title at Summerslam. All four men deserve a bonus from WWE for this match. I also find it stunning that Finlay, 49, is still quite agile.
Misses
- Dreamer Vs. Delaney: The match was somewhere around 3 minutes when it easily could have been a main event on ECW sometime in the future. Also, Tommy Dreamer pinned Colin Delaney who just turned heel, halting all of his heat.
