World's Worst Wrestling: Max Moon

No one else in the business was like him, he was a cyborg from the future, he was Maximillian Moon! The role was originally taken on by Konnan in the WWF in 1993, but he was later be replaced by Paul Diamond who would suit up in the powder-blue bodysuit decorated with a dashboard, two firework-shooting wristbands, and a jet pack. The character was originally called the Comet Kid, but Max Moon would be born in September 1992. Of that year, Diamond, as Max Moon, would defeat Terry Taylor at several house shows then Repo Man and Rick Martel by DQ. The Moon character would gain the most attention when Max Moon lost to Shawn Michaels, Diamond's former partner, on the very first episode of Monday Night Raw on January 11, 1993. However, he would continue to lose eventually becoming a full-time jobber. He made his lone PPV appearance by participating in the Royal Rumble match in 1993, being eliminated quickly. In February, Diamond's contract would expire and, sadly, the Max Moon character would die. Diamond went on to work for WCW and ECW, but he would never don a jet pack again. Max Moon's legacy lives on as being the only wrestler to successfully break the space-time continuum (except for a few other WWF time-travelers.)
